Sweet Cream Berry Tartlets
As I mentioned earlier this week, here’s another great idea (well, at least I think they’re pretty awesome…you’ll have to let me know if you agree) for using the grocery store wonder product we know as mini pre-baked filo shells. Just like the Baklava Cups, these Sweet Cream Berry Tartlets are a breeze to prepare and can partially be made ahead of time, the cream at least, so they’re great for parties or even a quick dessert for dinner tonight. Assembling them right before show time wouldn’t take long. I just love how stinkin’ cute they are.
Perfect for strawberry season now and delicious with all the rest of the berries that will be going on sale this summer, these cream tarts are the base for any berry you’d like to top them with. I added a garnish of chopped mint leaves because I had it on hand, and really loved the added burst of fresh flavor, but it’s totally optional. You could also garnish with shaved or grated dark chocolate, mmm, especially with strawberries. Delicious!
