A Must-Have Cookbook

Posted by Vanessa in News, January 8, 2011

I received a new cookbook for Christmas…and I pretty much haven’t put it down since.  The Phoenix keeps telling me I’m obsessed, but really maybe he should just appreciate the multiple new dishes every day that he gets to enjoy.  Right?

Right.

I obviously haven’t read the whole thing yet, all 944 pages of it, 1500 recipes or so.  But I will.  This cookbook is amazing.  There’s so much information, but presented in such an accessible way.  The recipes are simple, incredibly easy to understand and execute, so far, delicious.  It’s a great book for a complete kitchen novice and I’d imagine from the reviews that even some of the country’s top chefs use a copy of it too.

I can’t get enough.  And although I’m not going to cook my way through every recipe like the movie Julie and Julia, you will see quite the collection of recipes from it here.

So really what I want to say – I think you should have this cookbook.  How To Cook Everything by Mark Bittman is probably the best cookbook I’ve ever come across and I think you’ll like it too.

If you ever decide to publish your own recipe book, I’ll be the first to buy it!!

Thanks, Mandy! But I’m not sure that will ever happen. I’m much better at modifying other people’s than actually creating my own from scratch. Hope you’re doing well!
