Monkey Bread

This is another breakfast treat I’m sure most of you know how to make.  But for those few that don’t, I didn’t want you missing out any longer.

The Phoenix loves monkey bread.  It makes him super happy.

Hey, maybe I’ll make this the next time I want him to take care of our little birds so I can have a girls night out.

Yes, it’s settled.  This is my new woo-ing tool.

Maybe I’ll even try for a cruise.

Okay, that might be going too far.

Now I’ve read a few recipes on other foodie blogs for monkey bread and they all make their own dough.  But quite honestly, I don’t think you need to.  It’s really good with the refrigerated biscuit dough and so much easier that way.  And I’m always for making stuff from scratch, but this time, I don’t think it’s necessary.

So go ahead and spoil your family with a special breakfast treat soon.  They deserve it.

Monkey Bread

Details

  • Cook Time: 30 minutes.
  • Ready in 45 Minutes.
  • Makes: 8 Servings
Ingredients
  • 3 tubes refrigerator biscuits
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a bundt pan with cooking spray.
  • Cut biscuits into fourths.
  • Mix sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon in a bowl and shake biscuits to coat.
  • Arrange biscuits in layers in the bundt pan.
  • Melt the butter, brown sugar and remaining cinnamon together. Pour over the top of the biscuits.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Unmold immediately on a serving plate.
  • Pull apart sections to eat. Enjoy!

You can also make this yummy breakfast in individual ramekins so everyone can have their own.  Just decrease your bake time by about half.  Cute, cute, cute.  But I must say, The Phoenix is a much bigger fan of the big monkey bread because there’s so many more gooey inside pieces.  I think I must concur.
