Merry Christmas!!
I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and thank you for reading my attempt at a blog. Seriously, it’s so much fun to try out recipes and share them with you!
We’re getting ready for a big birthday party tomorrow and some quality time with our family (my favorite thing in the world). And I am so excited. Now that our daughter is getting older and we have another little one to share the joy with, Christmas, well, it feels like I’m a kid again, only better, because now I’m celebrating the real reason for the holiday and I feel overjoyed for the promise of eternal life I have in Jesus and the family He’s blessed me with.
Oh, and my husband has asked for homemade donuts for Christmas morning. I’ve never attempted them before, but donuts totally speak to my heart, er, my stomach. So we’ll see how it goes…I don’t even know how involved they are and I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen, so we’ll see. I mean, there’s a very important birthday cake to be made as well… I bought a tube of refrigerated biscuits because I think I heard many years ago that you can cut out a circle in the middle and fry those babies up for an easy donut so if it looks too complicated, I’m gonna give that a whirl.
I don’t know if I ever told you, but when we moved to Missouri and were looking for a new church one of the things I wanted was a place that gave out free donuts. Okay, okay, I know, totally missing the point, right? But in my defense, I was very pregnant then and the baby looooved the weekly indulgence.
And so did I. Who are we kidding.
